How to make Dahi Vada Recipe

Material:

To make Vada:

Urad dal: 1 cup (soaked overnight)
Green chilli: 2-3
Ginger: 1 small chopped
Salt: as per taste
Asafoetida: 1/4 teaspoon
Oil: for frying vadas
Curd:

Curd: 2 cups
Water: 1/2 cup
Salt: as per taste
Tadka:

Oil: 1 tablespoon
Mustard: 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves: a handful, chopped
For serving:

Roasted cumin: 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder: as per taste
Coriander leaves: chopped
Instruction:



Preparation of Urad Dal:

Grind the soaked urad dal in a blender.
Add green chilli, ginger, salt, asafoetida and blend again.
Take out the mixture in a clean bowl.

Make Vada:
Heat oil in a pan.
Make small balls from the urad dal mixture and fry them in hot oil.
Fry the vadas till they turn dark golden and drain them on paper towel.

Prepare curd:
Mix curd, water and salt in a bowl and mix well.
Add vada to curd:

Add the prepared vada to the curd.
Dip the vadas thoroughly in the curd and refrigerate them for 1-2 hours to cool.

Add tempering:
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves.
Pour tadka on dahi vada.

Make servings:
Garnish Dahi Vada with roasted cumin, red chili powder, and chopped coriander leaves and serve.
